serve at Faith United Protestant Church. Listed below are the
Council and Board positions. If you have questions, please

BOARDS Board of Worship and Music The Board assists the ordained staff in planning, coordinating, and evaluating innovative, inspiring, and dynamic worship services, including liturgy and music, based on the sound theological practices that emerge in the United Protestant tradition. The Board provides ushers, greeters, acolytes, communion needs, sound system, chancel preparation, nursery, and coffee servers as needed for the service. This Board also coordinates the musical offerings by the adult, youth and bell choirs. Chair: Donna Moore Board of Christian Education With guidance and direction from the professional staff, the Board of C.E. oversees the educational opportunities for all age groups at Faith. It provides a broad range of programs incorporatiing applications of Christian teachings and principles to contemporary lives. The Board functions through a committee structure to develop and oversee programming such as Sunday School, Youth Fellowships, Adult Education, Intergenerational Activities, and Bible Study. Co-Chairs: Jan Vinson & Jennifer Washington Board of Stewardship This Board is responsible for developing the philosophy of committing time, talent, and treasure for the members of the church that is compatible with church goals. The Board is responsible for developing and supporting the annual financial pledge campaign and advising the Countil on coordination of special financial appeals. It is also responsible for maintaining membership records. The hope for the future is to assist those interested in broadening their stewardship roles to be matched to needs in the church. Chair: Max Geldean (top) Board of Parish Life The Board's main function is to oversee the use, occupancy and care of real and personal property of the church. With the guidance of the facilities manager, Parish Life works to assure a high standard of both functional and aesthetic services. This Board has fostered the concept of the church as a spiritual body within a physical structure. Co-Chairs: Vaughn Van Dolah & Jane Carl Board of Discipleship In conjunction with the pastoral staff, this Board helps assure that pastoral care is provided to those in need. It oversees the on-going care and nurture of Faith members and works to develop a warmer, more caring fellowship within the community of Faith through prayer groups, retreats, and other discipleship activities. Chair: John Lulewicz (top) Board of Outreach and Evangelism The mission of this Board is to develop opportunities to bring people together to share the Good News of Jesus Christ, offer a friendly and welcoming atmosphere for guests, provide a thorough understanding of Faith Church to prospective members, and embrace new members while assimilating them into the church family. To meet these challenges, the Board operates through a committee structure. Chair: Mary Chisholm Board of Christian Mission The Board's main focus is to determine the appropriate recipients of benevolence funds and projects and programs to help those in need both locally and globally. Another emphasis is to provide mission education for the congregation. Chair: Annette Demchuk At-large members The six at-large members represent the congregation as a whole and serve on one or more committees. (top) COUNCIL COMMITTEES Nominating Committee This committee prepares a slate of candidates from among members of the church for election to the Church Council and Boards. Chair: Bonnie Clark Personnel Committee This committee reviews and evaluates the performance of the pastor and all other paid staff with the pastor. Co-Chairs: Ginny Anderson & Sharon Platt Endowment Committee This committee deals with decisions concerning endowment accounts, including the Millennium Fund, and the disbursement of income from them. Chair: Steve Wing At-large members may also serve on one of the following committees: Finance, Communications, Church and Society, Preschool, UP Council (top) |
