WHAT'S HAPPENING AT
FAITH:
Office Hours
The
office will continue to be closed of Fridays throughout the year.
Regular office hours are Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00
p.m.
Now that it’s PADS season, remember to drop off contributions on
Thursday or Saturday morning. The building is open from 8:00 am
to 12 noon on Saturdays.
It's Theme Basket Time Again!
After taking a year off, the committee
that plans events to help our church budget has decided to bring back
our popular Silent Auction Theme Baskets. All items, in their containers with a
written inventory, are due in the Church Office no later than Sunday,
February 5, 2012.
The auction will take place on
Sunday, February 12
and conclude on Sunday, February 19, 2012. Once again, there will be
two baskets where tickets will be sold for a drawing on February 19, 2012.
Valentine's Dinner
The
next offering from the Food & Fellowship Committee will be the
Valentine’s Dinner. It will be held at 6:30
pm on Friday, February 10, 2012 at Carlo’s Restaurant in Chicago
Heights.
Advance registration and prepayment of $25 per person may be made after
the worship services on February 5, 2012.
Please plan to attend and join us as we look toward sharing our
“hearts” with members of our Faith family and friends. For further

There
will be an Information Sharing class
for those interested in membership into Faith Church on Sunday, February 12, 2012 at 11:30 am
in the Church Lounge. There will be a light lunch, followed by history
and information about the church.

Those participating in the class will be brought into membership during
the 10:15 am worship service the following Sunday, February 19, 2012.
Faith Theater Readers' Trio
Something
very special is coming in February. Many of you remember Faith
Theater’s presentation of It’s a Wonderful Life. Three delightfully
entertaining short plays will be presented this February in the style
of ...Wonderful Life. They are Drama Choir performances of Stackalee and Mama Medea by
Jack Stokes and the hilarious Why I Am A Bachelor
by Conrad Seiler.
Performances are Friday, February 24,
2012 at 7:30 pm and Saturday, February 25, 2012 at 3:00 pm.
And the best part! Tickets are only $5. So, please, make plans now to
support your fellow church members as they present a fun-filled evening
or afternoon of theater.
Pledge Campaign
Imagine
being asked and being helped to become more like the person God
intended you to be! Let God help you create the kind of self that you
would be happy to live with all the rest of your life.
As in past years, we are planning a simple program for Stewardship. Sunday, March 18, 2012 will be
Consecration Sunday. One of the goals for this year’s program is
to encourage every member to make a pledge to Faith Church and its work
for next year. However, the much more important goal is to allow this
biblical, spiritual, inspirational program to enrich our understanding
of what it means to be a steward. This program doesn’t focus on how
much the church needs, and nobody will be asked to give so as to meet a
budget. Each one of you will be asked what you can give as a sign of
faith and commitment to the way of Jesus Christ.
During the next several weeks, you will be hearing from a few of our
members. We will also have a guest steward. On Sunday, March 18, 2012,
each of us will have the opportunity to make our financial commitment
to the church for the 2012-2013 fiscal year. We would like you to think
about how God is calling us to share the gifts He has provided for us.
Pastor Mike has some exciting sermons for this Stewardship program.
Please remember to join us on March 18, 2012 for worship, consecration,
and the luncheon to celebrate ourselves as stewards.
Fellowship Groups
The Fellowship Committee invites you to stay for
cake with your coffee and attend an informational/interest meeting
regarding the possibility of special activities to increase your
fellowship at Faith Church.
The meeting will be in the Terrace Room at 11:30 am on Sunday, March 4, 2012.
Chili and Bunco
Chili/Bunco Event in the Terrace Room on
Sunday, March 4.The
cost will be $10
per person. Sign-ups will be on Sundays, February 19, 26, and March 4,
2012.
Women's Book Discussion
There will be a Women’s Book Discussion at 7:00 pm
on March 6, 2012 at the home of Cheryl Black. The book is The Story of Beautiful
Girl.
Concert
The Northern Illinois University Steeldrum Band
returns to Faith Church for a performance in
the Sanctuary
on April 20, 2012 at 7:00 pm . Tickets are $10 per
person.
